A+
Bonus Bucks
Stop & Shop is proud to offer the A+ Bonus Bucks program to
help our community schools. Now parents and other supporters can earn great
awards for schools to use as they choose!
What It Is: With A+ BonusBucks, points accrue with each purchase where the Stop
& Shop Card is used. It even works with purchases made online with Peapod
by Stop & Shop. At the end of each month, these points determine your
school's cash total which is automatically credited to its account and school
totals updated each month. (Please note: Gift cards (excluding store brand gift
cards), pharmacy, alcohol and/or cigarette purchases are excluded from accruing
points.)
How It Works: A+ BonusBucks are rounded per transaction to the nearest whole
dollar amount. At the end of each month, each school's dollar amount is
determined which is then automatically credited to its account. Register your
Stop and Shop card by logging onto www.stopandshop.com/aplus.
Our school ID is 08510. ItÕs as easy as that!!
TARGET RED CARD
If you shop at Target & have their Red credit card, you can
register it online for their "Take Charge of Education" program &
they will automatically give back 1% of all qualifying purchases to our school.
It's that easy, no additional costs or hassles for you!
OneCause.com
It's so easy! You can earn money for Central by doing what you
already do - shopping with your favorite merchants
online. Go to www.onecause.com
prior to shopping online, register as a supporter of the Central PTA, search
for your favorite stores online, and go shopping! Target, Amazon, Boden, MacStore, and so many
others are here!
Box Tops For
Education Fundraiser
You can help earn cash for our school this year
in a fun and easy way. Simply clip & save Box Tops coupons! Some participating brands include
Pillsbury, Cheerios, Ziploc, Huggies and
Kleenex. Each Box Top coupon is worth 10 cents for our schoolÉand it
really adds up. Twice a year, Box Tops will send a check to our school
for each Box Top redeemed.
Box Tops can be dropped off in the mailboxes
found by the LGI, near the first grade entrance next to room 312 and in the PTA
box near the main office. Every little bit helps so make a difference
every time you go to the store and collect these coupons for Central.
If you have any questions regarding this
fundraiser, contact Lara Gordon at larobno@yahoo.com.
CATS
(Central Acts for Traffic Safety) ![]()
The
C.A.T.S. program is a PTA-organized drop-off and pick-up system for parents and
caregivers. Each morning, parent
volunteers assist children who are being dropped off at Central, and each
evening they assist children being picked up from school.
If you would like to take advantage
of this program, you must fill out the dismissal form, choosing the flagpole
dismissal option. All families
will then receive a name card, which must be placed in the front windshield at
pick-up time.
At
morning drop-off, drivers must use the Palmer Entrance. Parent volunteers will be waiting in
front of the school to assist children getting out of the car.
At
afternoon pick-up, children will report to the LGI at the end of school; kindergarten students will be escorted by an adult. Drivers will again use the Palmer
Entrance. Cars will line up in the
right lane, leaving the left lane clear for traffic flow. Engines must be turned off. A CATS volunteer will look for the name
card in your window and will call ahead for your child using a Walkie Talkie.
The CATS volunteers will help children get in the car.

Nooniversity
This
program works to provide an informative and interesting presentation to the
students at Central School. In 2009, the fourth graders were excited to
be able to learn about how model airplanes are built and flown.
Building Bridges Program
Building Bridges is an interactive program, which will be held
at Central School from
Feb 8th - 12th, 2010. The objective of the
program is to:
(1) Increase students knowledge &
understanding of people with different abilities
(2) Allow students to experience what it is like to live with
these differences
(3) Reinforce the idea that all people have the same social
needs and feelings
The program features in-class activities & outside speakers
including a vision impaired woman with a guide dog, a paralympic
athlete & a panel of MHS high school students who have successfully
overcome learning disabilities.
Last year, the program was a huge success thanks to the many
parent volunteers & we are hoping that we can get your support again this
year. We need 2-3 parent volunteers from each class to lead the in-class
activities. The time commitment is minimal – 1 hr of prep time & 1 hr
in class! The one hour training sessions will be held
during the day & at night, to accommodate working parents.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Debbie Bunder or Patty Wolff.
