Important Date Changes- HMX Grades 7 and 8

Grade 8

The date of eighth grade graduation ceremony has been changed to Thursday, June 24.  The date change will enable construction crews to begin as soon a possible a mammoth project replacing windows and the heating and ventilation system in 70 percent of the building.  You will receive an email later this week providing parents with more details about the graduation ceremony.

Grade 7

The date of the Conversation with the Principal for seventh grade parents has been changed to Wednesday, May 19.  For the convenience of parents’ schedules, repeating programs are scheduled at 9:15am and 7:30pm in the library conference room.  The agenda will preview eighth grade classes, explain how the “Super team” model being implemented next year will affect teams, and share the results of a substance use survey administered to Hommocks students.  The date change avoids a conflict with a Board of Education meeting the same evening.

The Hommocks PTA is proud to sponsor a new, convenient service for parents of incoming 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.  Hommocks school supplies can now be ordered online and delivered directly to your home. We will be working with the company, School-Pak, to provide this service.

To go directly to the order form, click:  http://www.schoolpak.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=1499&cat=Hommocks+Middle+School. Or go to the Mamaroneck schools website (www.mamkschools.org) and see the Hommocks PTA page.

Please note that band, orchestra and foreign language supplies are not included.  And individual teachers may request specific items not included in the kit. Questions - contact Joyce Callahan at joycecallahan@verizon.net or Amy Rothman at amywrothman@aol.com

Volunteers and Staff Appreciation Breakfast is this Friday, May 7th from 7:30AM to 10:00AM.  The Hommocks PTA invites Parent Volunteers and Hommocks Staff to a breakfast in the Library in appreciation for all that you have done this year to make our school the special place it is.
