What really goes on in high school? Alexandra Robbins employs her signature investigative style and follows 7 young adults from various socially defined groups over the course of a school year to track their social/emotional development and challenges. The popular girl risks her social status by reaching out to another in a different group; the band geek is made fun of and the new girl is ostracized because of her race. Ms. Robbins will discuss findings from her book that will open parents' and educators' eyes to the social and emotional pressures our adolescents face as they navigate their way through high school.
