To Deb Schwarz, Volunteer Coordinator, for organizing the PTA
Volunteer Fair last Friday. To our PTA Treasurer Liza Mason
for her due diligence in preparing the budget. To all of you who attended
the Fair/Meeting and volunteered for a committee, recruited volunteers,
shared an idea, asked a thought-provoking question and voted to support
this year's PTA budget and membership dues. To Barbara Mehlman,
Judy Casey and Gail Julie for putting together such a fantastic
package of After School offerings for our children. To Debbie Hilden
and Suzanne Beilenson for organizing the PTA Membership Drive.
To all of the Room Reps for helping each class get off to a
great start. To Lizette Maculuso and Ann Marie Hayes for coordinating
the class photos, and to all their helpers for combing hair and straightening
collars so we will soon have beautiful photos of our kids. |

Help Provide First Aid to African Orphans:
In continuation with last year's collection efforts of school supplies
by Murray kindergarten teacher Mrs. Finn, the Community Outreach committee
will be assisting a district effort in collecting new and unopened
tubes of over the counter Antibiotic Ointment. Murray
donations will be shipped to a school for 200 orphaned children in
Rundu, Namibia who are much in need of this basic first aid necessity.
Help us help other children stay well! Beginning Tues, Oct 3rd drop
a tube or two inside the collection box outside the main office. The
box will be there for 2 weeks. Questions? Contact Nancy

Come to the 2nd Grade Level Coffee on Wed, Oct 4th, at 9:15
am in the Small Lunchroom. Meet Jennifer Scazafave, Cruz Soler, your
grade level rep and other 2nd grade parents. Bring along any questions
you have or just stop by to say hello. |
Fall Fling!
Thurs, Oct. 19th, 7 pm-10 pm at Chat 19. Send your check for
$25/person payable to "Murray Ave PTA" to Joy Metalios, 166 Rockingstone
Avenue, Larchmont or drop in the Fall Fling box near the office by
Fri, Oct 13th. |
Murray Avenue Book Fair:
Mon, Oct 23rd - Thurs, Oct 26th New this year, the Murray Avenue
Customized Book Fair! We have selected a new book fair supplier and
are bringing in what our teachers, students and parents want! Highlighted
at the book fair will be "teacher picks", "student picks" and "parent
picks". Parents if you are interested in a particular author/book
title let us know. Email your suggestions ASAP to: theewalds@mac.com.
Volunteers still needed - it is a wonderful way for parents

After-School Clubs Reminder:
If you don't hear from the club co-chairs on or before Tues, Oct 10th,
your child has been placed in their first choice club. Club lists
and location will be posted on the bulletin board across from the
library on Tues, Oct 10th. |
Murray Library Needs You!
We still don't have enough volunteers. It is a 1½ hour commitment
every 2 weeks. If interested, particularly on Friday's, contact Carolynn
Dilworth or Diane Katz.

related. Murray's liaison to the School Board is Amy Levere.
