4th and 5th Grade Game Room
The PTA Lunchtime Activities Committee needs parents to staff a game room for 4th and 5th graders, which will be open on Thurs during the cold weather months of January, February and March 2007.The time commitment for volunteers is 11:30am to 12:30pm -- you can volunteer once or as many times as you would like. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Stephanie Basta. |
Healthy Hair Tip of the Week
There continue to be cases of head lice found in children in our school and throughout the community. We are fortunate to have a PTA Healthy Hair volunteer effort at Murray; however, healthy hair responsibility begins at home. We urge you to spend a minute per child at home every day looking for lice nits. If found, consult your pediatrician for treatment options then notify the school nurse. THE NURSE MUST CHECK YOUR CHILD BEFORE RETURNING TO THE CLASSROOM. If you are suspect but unsure, bring your child to the nurse before school begins. Thank you for your cooperation. Lice does not have to be a school problem. Healthy hair can begin, and end, at home. |
PTA Expenses
Please submit any outstanding PTA reimbursement requests with the proper paperwork as soon as possible. The PTA reimbursements forms are located in the Treasurer’s file in the main office or simply click here. Questions? Contact Liza Mason. |
Art Appreciation
As the American Folk Art/quilting unit nears completion; please note the next artist we will be presenting is Mary Cassatt on Jan. 19th to the parent volunteers. There is a wonderful exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art entitled "Americans in Paris". This exhibition will be on view until January 28 and features many very special Cassatt works as well as some incredible John Singer Sargent works. It would make for a great day-trip during the break. Hope you get the opportunity to enjoy the exhibition as we prepare for the next segment of our American Art Through the Centuries tour. |
Traffic and Safety Tip of the Week
You are “running late.” You are “only going to be in the school for five minutes.” You “didn’t see the sign.” You are sure “these people never use their driveway during the day.” If you find yourself using any of these excuses for parking infractions, please leave more time to find a legal parking space around school. Never block a driveway, a fire hydrant or a crosswalk. Be a good neighbor and help keep our children safe. |
