  • A Note from the PTA Co-Presidents
We hope you are enjoying your summer vacation and are savoring some well-earned free time with your children.  In our ongoing efforts to “go green”, this year we are sending our summer mailing electronically.  This email contains important information that will help you plan for the upcoming school year.  Please take the time to review it even if you are an experienced Murray parent.  We also urge you to read the weekly e-newsletters published by the PTA (“Tiger Talk”), and to check our website (www.mamkschoolspta.org/murray) regularly for news about programs and events in the school.  We look forward to seeing you all when school opens!

  • 2011-2012 Executive Board
We are delighted to present the 2011-2012 PTA Executive Board.  The Executive Board consists of parent members nominated and elected by the PTA, along with two teachers who volunteer to serve two-year terms to represent the faculty interests and perspectives.  This year, the teachers serving on the Executive Board are Audrey Goldenberg (who is in the second year of her term) and Christine Mozian (who is in the first year of her term).  In order to ensure that the parent members of the Executive Board are intimately involved in the day-to-day volunteer work that is the crux of the PTA, they each chair a committee in addition to other board responsibilities.

  • 9/23 PTA Volunteer Fair and PTA Meeting
Get involved and make a real difference in your child’s school!  Whatever your talents, interests, and time constraints, you’ll find volunteer work that suits you.  The Volunteer Fair is your opportunity to meet the committee chairs who will be available to describe and answer questions about the many volunteer activities.  It starts at 8:30 am so feel free to bring your children.  For detailed information on the PTA committees, go to  PTAVolunteerOpportunities2011-2012 on website or contact Patricia Dsupin, PTA Volunteer Coordinator, at patriciadsupin@gmail.com.  Then, at 9:15 am, the PTA will hold its first meeting of the school year, during which the proposed PTA budget for the 2011-2012 school year will be presented, discussed, and voted upon by the members.  Mike Kollmer, Director of Instructional Technology will also be making a presentation.  Please join us – all of us can do our part to help make Murray great!

  • Stop&Shop A+ Bonus Bucks
This past school year, 305 Murray families earned our school more than $2,400, and the District generated more than $10,300…just for grocery shopping!   Look for online registration information in early September—the program will kick off in early October.  You can designate up to 3 District schools, including Murray.  And signing up won’t prevent you from participating in any of the other shopper programs that Stop & Shop offers.  Any friend or family member with a Stop & Shop card can enroll and support our schools—they don’t even have to live nearby!  Remember, even if you participated last year, you must re-register this year.  For more info, please email Ellen Howse at HowseBusiness@att.net.
