Healthy Kids Healthy World is a new committee designed to inspire the community to learn about - and get involved with- issues that impact our children’s health and environment. This year the committee will focus on a variety of fun activities that help children understand the interdependence between their health and well-being, and their environment, community and planet. Our hope is to empower kids to make responsible choices, and challenge them to think about ways that they can make a difference by nurturing their generous spirit. Parents are encouraged to get involved every step of the way. Visit our website at www.hkhw.org for more information and for weekly entries on health and the environment.

Join In HKHW’s Exciting New Events:
HKHW Kids Pages: Our new website is also for kids. Parents, please introduce your kids to the Kids Pages. These are entries for kids by kids. Kids can submit their work for publication on the website. The theme for entries should relate to healthy kids and a healthy world. Entries can include artwork, stories, fun recipes or experiments to try at home, as well as, short homemade movies and anything else you can think of. New entries will be added regularly. So keep them coming and don’t forget to keep checking the website. Submit your entries to jlankler@optonline.net or put them in the HKHW box outside the main office.

Coming In October:
HKHW Search for a Logo: Kids in all grades are welcome to create and submit logos for our new website at www.hkhw.org . All logos submitted will be hung up in the hallways/lunchroom. We will also rotate artwork on the website, so be sure to check for yours. We are looking forward to your great ideas! More details to follow ... HKHW Kids Council: Students will generate ideas about how to make their school and their
community healthier and more environmentally conscious. They will devise plans and strategize
on how best to implement their ideas at school or in the community. And they will be given
support to make their project a success. More details coming soon...
